New iOS Video Tutorial on Saving Input Text and NSUserDefaults in Swift 1.2
For our subscribers I’m adding this video tutorial to the Developer’s Survival Bag section, because this is one of those short lessons that gives you just enough info to get you started on whatever you’re stuck on. And I know a lot of my game developers think “it would be great to save the player’s name here”, but abandon that idea as just a passing thought assuming it’s too much of a pain. Fear not. This short tutorial will show you to use a UITextField in a Sprite Kit based game to enter input text (for example the player’s name) and keep that data saved over the lifespan of the app in an SKLabelNode.
Also I’ll make this a freebie for non-subscribers, because what the heck, I’m working on the weekend, you can too….
