Taught by professional illustrator, caricature artist, and animator Justin Cook
CartoonSmart is now sporting two delivery methods for your training. You can stream the videos to your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone OR use our original delivery method: zip files containing the course videos and assets. Either way you’ve got the same great HD video CartoonSmart is known for. Before YouTube was even started, we’ve been offering HD quality screencasts!
Adobe Photoshop is preferred for this series, but you could use another pixel-based illustration program. Any recent version of Photoshop is fine for these tutorials.
Justin Cook is a professional animator and illustrator, specializing in Toon Boom Animate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash. Justin has taught over 30 hours of Toon Boom tutorials for Cartoon Smart, and this is his first Photoshop tutorial for the site.
Five zombified drawing exercises with Adobe Photoshop.
Learn sketching and coloring techniques using Photoshop (or your preferred pixel-illustration software) in this three hour high definition video series.
Three hours of training. Taught frighteningly well.
Session 1: Sketching
Watch as Justin Cook draws each of the five characters, and shares tips that you’ll only hear from a professional illustrator.
Session 2: Inking
Even old pros to Photoshop can probably use a refresher in inking. Justin combines the pressure senstive brush tools and the pen tool to paint a beautiful layer of ink with an emphasis on line variety.
Session 3: Coloring
Using dedicated layers, Justin finishes up these masterpieces with shading and full color.
