This Swift / Sprite Kit video tutorial continues teaching how to make a top-down attack for our player. We’ll make the AttackArea class grow then remove itself using a sequence of SKActions. Then we’ll save an SKAction (in the Actions.sks file) of animated textures to use instead of the simple blue circle placeholder. Then we’ll do the same thing to make our character swing his sword. Finally we’ll use the didBegin contact statement to detect when the AttackArea touches a castle. We’ll then remove the castle, just to prove our attack is working. Later on we’ll have the character actually attack an enemy.
